Press Association. AUCKLAND, Dec. 16. In the Magistrate’s Court to-day, beforo Mr. Kettle, S.M., Roderick Finlayson, police constable, of. Newruarkob, was charged on three indictments with having assaulted Thomas Henry -Parker at Newmarket by striking barn on the- head several times with a police baton, and by f-rasping him from behind by both shoulders au-cl kicking him on the leg, tlius causing him actual hodilv hairni. The Right Hon. the Premier leaves for Taihapo to-morrow, returning to AVellington via- tho Wairarapa on Wednesday. The Hon. J. -McGowan, Minister of -Mines and Justice, leaves far Auckland to-morrow bv way of tho Main Trunk Railway. Die Hon. J. A. Millar intends to spend Christmas .at Auckland. The Hon. J.
