Mr. Horace Avory contended that every one of the promoters and subscribers of the Druco companies was liable to he prosecuted for champerty and maintenance. Probably the promoters of the companies would eventually be charged with conspiracy in preferring a false claim to the Portland and other estates, and Hollamby Druce with conspiracy to falsely accuso defendant and swindlo foolish subscribers. Tho defendant was willing, if the interests of justice demanded it, to allow the grave to bo opened. Catherine Bailey, for many years in Dtuco’s employ, testified that he died in her presence at liis Mill Hill ■residence in December, 1864. The case has been adjourned until ■Friday.
