CHARITABLE AID BOARD
The Charitable Aid Board mot last night. Present: His AVorsliip the Alayor (in the chair), and Cre. "Williams and Aliller. A letter was received from the Auckland Board in reference to a lady who was sent to Auckland from here for medical attention, and now had to be rotimiod to Gisborne.—The application for expenses was granted. Dr. A r alintine wrote in reference to a. proposed list of indigent persons. He would send cards, and asked for lull information.—Or. Miller objected :to this. He doubted if it was a good move, and it should be kept for a fuller meeting. They did not want to give hcli) to loafers.—Cr. AVilliams saav no objection to the proposal.— Hold over till next meeting.
The Hospital and Charitable Aid Board wrote in reference to the wish of the Counties Conference held in July last, and stating that it had been decided to convene a meeting of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards lor the purpose of' discussing the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act Amendment Bill, which is to be introduced next session. Date, time, etc., would be notified later.— Received. The Custodian reported that during the month five patients were admitted , and 11 were there now. He acknowledged receipt of a parcel of papers from Airs. Rees. Crs. Kenway -and AA’illiams were appointed a visiting committee for the month.
Cr. Williams brought up the question of Xmas dinner for the old men. The late Mr. Harding had treated thorn in' the past. It was decided to see that the old men were adequately looked after.
Accounts amounting to £9l 15s were passed for payment.
