On Thursday the first race for Mr. J. Town-leytrophy will be held. Tho course will be to Mnkaraka- and back, tho starting and finishing point being the corner of ;Groy-str-eet and Gl'ad-stone-road. The -following handicaps have been- declared: —11. Anderson, scratch; A. Elliott, :R. Huston, 11. Davis, lOsoc; 'L. AVilkinson, iG. (Saunders, G. McDowell, 25sec; M. Shierin, E. Davis, G. Aston, A. Wilkinson, 30sec; F. Gardiner, -loscc; J. Aston, 120 sec. Points -will be awarded as follows: —First 5, second 3, third 1. Tho committee reserve -the wight- to -postpone tlio race or alter the course.
