Mrs. and the Misses Tullock, of Te Ivuri, returned to Gisborne on Sunday, after a visit to England and' the Continent.

Constable AA r ales, who has been stationed - in Gisborne for tlie past two and a half years, leaves to-morrow by tlio llaupiri, to take charge of the Port Awaniu station.

Constable Fernley, of Napier, is at present assisting the local police staff, in consequence of the illness of Constables Pratt and Irwin, both of whom resume duty on Monday next. A local gentleman, has received a telegram to tlie effect that Mr. J. D. -McCredie, tho well-known fanner of Puha, has undergone a very serious operation at AA’ellingtoii, and is now doing -very well.
