CONDITIONS IMPOSED IN AUCKLAND. Press Association. AUCKLAND, December 12. Tho conditions imposed by tho ■ Auckland Racing Club concerning tho issue of licenses to bookmakers at tho summer meeting yvoro discussed at a meeting of tho Auckland Bookmakers’ - Association. As a result tho folloyving telegram yvas despatched to the Attorney-General: “A deputation of bookmakers yvaited on the, Auckland Racing Club last night, tlio ■ committee of yvliich expressed their intention of dealing fairily yvith tho bookmakers. To our surprise the club lias framed conditions yvliich yve are legally- advised are beyond the powers of the committee to enforce. The bookmakers are anxious to avoid any- unploasantness or anything appertaining to disorder at tho forthcoming meeting, and ask your intervention towards the accomplishment of this desirable end. A clerk is charged £5. A small strip of ground is sst apart only for betting. A bookmaker under the club’s rule 6 will probably have betting ten minutes before theHime' specified in the Act.”
