Press Association. INVERCARGILL. Dec. 10. The Supremo Court sittings opened to-day before Judge Williams, who congratulated the jury on the remarkable absence of crime in the district. There were only three cases, and nano of a serious character. Charles Froggatt, a youth, was charged with having improper relations with a girl under 10, Who was a consenting party. The case is proceeding. A verdict of not guilty was returned in Froggatt’s case. ' The Grand Jury returned no bill in the case against Alexander Ferrier, charged with manslaughter. The facts were that the horse took fright at Ferrier’s traction engine and backed over an embankment, killing tlie young woman. INVERCARGILL. Dec- 10. Thomas Seabor Charter, charged with an indecent assault on a .girl under 16, was found not guilty.
