THREATENS WELSH MANUFACTURERS. “BUY OR BE SMASHED.” United Press Association— Copyright (Received Dec. 9, 11.42 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 9. The newspaper “Ironmonger” states that the United States Steel Trust presented an ultimatum to the Welsh tin plate manufacturers that - they must either buy monthly 30,000 American steel bars or be smashed. The manufacturers refused to comply. The Daily Chronicle says that if there is any reality in the threat the Government should take action.
