Post states that the quest-on of the licensing of bookmakers by ■racing clubs and the fees to be j ird is still under discussion. A local penoiller lias received information from Christchurch that the Racing Conference >s ill fa 70r of licensing bookmakers on a scale according to the stakes and at particular meetings. The fee would Le £5 per day in the case of clubs n here the stakes range from £SOO to £9OO -per day; £lO where the stakes ixceed £IOOO, hut are less than £1909; and £2O per day" where the, , -:ze money is £2OOO and over.
