SWIMMING.
AUCKLAND, Dec. 7. The annual meeting of tho dolomites to the Auckland centre of the N.Z. Amateur Swimming Association was held last evening, The balancesheet for the past season showed a debit balance on the general account, but the humane branch was in substantial credit. Itpvas ."announced that tho following clubs, AVaitemata. Y.M.C.A., and Tharrfes, Ind already affiliated 'this .-season,) and it was hoped other clubs would soon be in existence. It was reported that tho Royal Life Saving 'Society in Loudon had been written to for information and books on life-saving, and an effort will be made to further develop this useful branch of the sport this season. - UVir."" It was announced that the local championships would probably bo allocated at the next meeting, to be held on the 19th inst. Applications have been made for the N.Z. championship.
