ENTERTAINMENTS.

SACRED CONCERT. Lovers of music will have a last opportunity of hearing Mrs. IJuekcritlj'o on Sunday night,- when, in response to many requests, she will sing some sacred items, in which class of music she particularly excels. Besides tlio popular singers who so ably supported her on Thursday night, patrons will have tlio pleasure of hearing Mrs. llowic (Te Rang; ]>ai), who has very kindly consented to assist. It is seldom that tluv public have the chance of listening to so fine a combination as tlio programme submitted. Tlio concert will commence after church hours, and a musical treat may be expected, as Mrs Barry, Miss Ilasisen, Messrs Williamson, Kennedy, Adair, Teat, Barlow, Reynolds, P. Adair, and Griffiths, and orchestra, will all contribute items.

COOK COUNTY CURIOUS COONS. A rehearsal of the Coons was held ill the Theatre last evening, when the various solos and choruses in the programme were particularly well rendered. Every item was a pronounced success, and the public are assured of a capital evening’s entertuinment on Friday evening next. The soloists are in splendid voice, whilst the choruses go with a zest that is well up to tlie standard of any professional company that has visited Gisborne. The programme comprises all the latest coon songs and melodies, and the enthusiasm displayed by the members is most encouraging. The orchestra under Mr. Bon is all that can possibly be desired. * The demand for tickets during the last few days lias been particularly keen. In these circumstances it is safe to predict that a crowded house will greet the Coons. 'The next rehearsal will take place on Monday evening in tlio Theatre at 7.30 sharp.
