The chairman ut directors (Mr. John Roberts), in moving tho adoption of tho report-, said that wool commanded enhanced puces, and tho company had to pay moro for its requirements, the result tieinl’' that prices for manufactured articles had to he raised materially during the latter half of the >cal. The output had been sold at fairly rom-unorativo prices. The mills had been fully employed during the year, and the company had still a fair quantity of orders on hand. Tho iwesen,t indications pointed to the possibility of securing wool at a lower price this year, ami the speaker looked forward to a satisfnctoij year. Tho report, wlucli recommended the payment of a dividend of -1 per cent., was adopted. The retir- ; n at directors, tho Hon. J. R. S m clnlr and Mr. V. Hislop, wore re-cloo-ted. indisposition, tho Rev. Mr. Saunders has resigned the chairmanship of the Congregational Union. The Key. D.
