PROJECTED DEPARTURES. Waikaro, Auckland, Nov. 2/. Manuka, South, Nov. 27. Victoria, Auckland, Saturday. Gisborne, "Whitiauga, Tuesday. Empreza, Whangarei, Wednesday
(The Taluno did not arrive from Auckland until 5.30 o’clock last evening, being delayed waiting for tlio -transhipment of fruit from the Islands, per the Mana-pouri. As the Talune carried about 800 tons of fruit for southern ports, the loss would have /been considerable if she had sailed without it, as it could not then have left Auckland unti-l Tuesday. The trip of the Manapouri from Auckland to the Islands and back occupies 28 days, and (as in the present case) difficulty is often experienced in ascertaining ithe whereabouts of the- vessel, as the means of communication • while on ■the /trip are slight. Owing to lack of her thing accommodation a-t the Kaiti wharf, ballasting operations on the Empreza and the Gisborne to-day will have to be oarried on at the town side of the river,* which means a considerable delay, because of the * -longer trip for the teams. The ketch Coronation is due with timber for W'hitianga. A wire was received on Thursday stating that she was leaving on that day. The. Awanui was reported off -East Cape at- noon on Saturday, ■and should arrive here this evening. Owing to the strong wijid yesterday morning i.t is thought probable that she may have -put back to -the Cape, which would delay her arrival. The schooner Gisborne and the Empreza will be taking in ballast at the wharf to-day, and will sail on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. The Toroa arrives from Napier early this morning, berthing at the Kaiti wharf.
•The Gisborne Sheepfarmers' Co.’s s.s. Kot-are arrived from coast ports early on Saturday morning, bringing over 300 bales of ‘wool front Tolaga. She sailed again for Tokomaru last evening. The U .S.S. Co.'s Afokoia arrived from South early on Saturday mornini', and sailed for Auckland at 11 a.m.
The U.S.S. Co.’s. Squall left Auckland on Saturday evening for Tblaga Bay and Gisborne,, and is expected here to-da ( y. She will bo berthed at the Kaiti" wharf.
