Etlicl Olsen, a god 20 years, was before the Court to-day, charged with wilfully sotting firo to the West Clive hotel. From particulars available, it appears that the licensee found threo incipient fires in tihe hotel about G o'clock yesterday morning, and suppressed them with difficulty before much damage was done. As a result of inquiries tlio police arrested Olson on a charge of being concerned in the affair. She was remanded till December 2nd, bail being allowed. WELLINGTON, November 23.
At the Supremo Court to-day Edward Hurtagli, who had been found guilty of wounding a child by cutting its leg with a razor, and also of assaulting tlio mother, with whom prisoner had lived for three years, was sentenced to eighteen months’ imprisonment with hard labor. WELLINGTON, Nov. 24.
At tlio Supreme Court yesterday Daniel Desmond O’Brien, who had pleaded guilty to talcing a watoli, knife, Jcey, and £4 from a man at Dannevirlce, was admitted to probation for two years. Win. Joseph Lowe and John Cornelius Robinson, charged with having at Eeilding assaulted a young man named Frederick Hugh Noffko and robbed him of a purso containing £6, were found guilty and remanded for sentence.
