Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Nov. 22. The 'Southland Times’ Glenorohy correspondent reports that on Monday evening iMrs Davidson, while driving ihome, stopped to throw .an orange to an old man. One of itlie reins fell and started the horse, and Mrs Davidson, in endeavoring to recover the rein, .fell, iand was kicked on the head and died instantly.
The horse bolted until pulled up iby the loose rain entangling in theaxile, and was caught by the husband of deceased, who found his little daughter unhurt in the 'bottom of the trap. WANGANUI, Nov. 22. Mrs Alice Hodgson, wife of a resident of Bmiterville, who was brought in to a private hospital hero 'about a week ago, was found in an unconscious condition, locked in a 'bathroom, last evening, having taken ados'e of-disinfectant, “Lysol.” Medical aid was summoned, hut efforts to counteract the poison were urorvaiiling, and the woman died mu hour afterwards. WAIROA, Nov. 22. Mrs. E. Cluilie, an old Wairoa settlor, died suddenly at Opoutama last night'of heart failure. .She was on a visit -to a friend, lind left- on her return, but soon after complained of her head. She was taken back, and died at. 0.45. Deceased was IT, and leaves a large family, grown up •nrestly, several being nairried. W.AIMATE,. Nov. 22.
John McCulloch, an old and respected settler here, was thrown out of liis trap on Tuesday evening,
through tlie' axle of his vehicle breaking. He received severe injuries, from which lie succumbed last night. The accident occurred near his home, and was witnessed by deceased’s family and employees.
