No incident of groat moment- occured at Pariliaka to-day, and though probably 250 arrived to-day tho attendance so far is much below expectations, and tho To Whiti’s are greatlj disappointed. Profuse welcomes in true Maori fashion were extended to visiting parties, whoso grief and expressions of lament were most pathotic. Amongst this evening s visitors were Dr. Pomaro and Hira Parata, with Waikanao Natives. The funeral will take place at 1 o’clock to-morrow in tho open square in front of lo Whiti’s house. A brick tomb is beinc built, which was the subject of a groat korero this morning, the lo Whitis holding that deceased should bo buried like a dog, thrown into a hole, after tho manner of tlio teaching of tho prophet for tho last fortyseven years. It is not yet decided what shall be tho manner of burial, but tho Rev. Haddon, Native Wesleyan missionary, endeavoured at-tlio meeting to-night to have the funeral according to Christian rites. He pointed out that other arrangements are according to Pakeka ways. Tho utmost discipline and good order prevail among the 1000 present, and no liquor is in evidence.
