It is persistently reported that the Bank of France is watching (Mr. Cartelvou’s measures for financial relief in America, and might cooperate with the financial institutions of Paris to extend Mr. Cortelyou assistance, if impelled by the French Government .in order to secure tariff concessions on French goods.
The Times says the money market believes there'is some basis for tlie report that some such arrangement has been diplomatically discussed.
