BOXING. BLENHEIM, Nov. 19. Tiro first tournament of the Marlborough Boxing Association concluded last night. A match of 50 sovs between Baird (Nelson) and Steele (Blenheim) resulted in a win for Baird in the fifth round after an unequal contest. Other classes resulted: Heavy weight, Allan Thompson (Blenheim); bantam, E. Bartlett (Blenheim); feather, A. Wanden (Blenheim); light, J. Hunter (Nelson) ; middle, A. Thompson. Tim Tracey, who refereed in the matches, gave an exhibition. CRICKET. The following players,' will represent the Te R'au 'Cricket Club dm their match with Common., Shelton, and Co. on Thursday next, at the - Victoria Domain, starting at 2.15 p.m. sharp:—Dr. Collins, J. H. Wack, J. Pune, W. Ellison, G. Witty, Oliver, Burke, Monk, Featon, W. H. Wack, and Kn owsley; emergencies, Melville, Cary. For the match, against the United eleven on Saturday, at the Victoria Domain, Te Ran will be represented by It.' W. Cary, 0. R. Olsen, F. Barnby, B. C. Baxter, J: Pino, J. IT. Wack, J. Monk, S. The weatilier was fine for the resumption of play, and the wicket played remarkably well after three days’ hard. wear.
