■On Sunday last tho members of St. Patrick’s H.A.C.8.5., No. 373, attended Holy- Communion, between 30 and 40 beiing present. Alter communion tlio members adjourned to the Lodge-room-, where an excellent breakfast was provided by the ladysupporters of the Branch-, the following committeo having the arrangements in handMesdaones P. Barry and R. Jones, and Misses McConville, Raughey (2), and Alley-. After breakfast tho president (Bro. R. K. Gituham) welcomed the coum•try- members. He stated that he had -not seen much of them in the past, hut lie hoped to see "them more in the future. 'The interest in the society- was shown, he said, by the fact that during the past 12 months the membership had increased twofold. The secretary- (Bio. M. O’Halloran), on behalf of the society, thanked the ladles for the sumptuous repast provided and for their efforts generally on behalf of the society-. He stated that it was intended to hold a picnic during, the Christmas holidays, when i-t was expected .that a good time would be spent. He further'stated that during tlio year .members would be brought together more than in the past.

The past- president (Bro. Burry) also gave a- short address, and expressed the hope that that morning’s gathering would be the forerunner of many- similar functions. ■Short addresses were also given bv Bros. M. O’Connor, H. J. Alley (vice-president) and Bro. Mahoney(who had been treasurer for four years).

.Tlie secretory gave a short , account of the working of the branch .during the past year, showing a ■great improvement- both as regards finance and membership.
