McColl and Maude, the two not-out men from the previous Saturday, 'went in, but the partnership did not last long, Maude being smartly stumped by Gary oil Pine’s bowling. The remaining batsmen failed badly, and the innings closed for 86 runs, 14 runs behind ' tho To Rau total. On To Rau going in for tho second timo 'a very bad start was effected, and had it not been for Olsen a small total would liave been shown oil the board. Olsen played a most valuable innings of 31 for his side, playing steadily, and showing greatly improved form. Tho bowling honors were .evenly divided, no fewer than fivo ol the Wanderers’ bowlers obtaining Wickets. Requiring 88 to win, and three-quarters of an hour to play, •Wanderers’ batsmen acting under instructions endeavored to force the pace, but with disastrous results.
