Amended regulations Gazetted tonight provide that not more than three persons in one family shall be eligible for appointment to the Post and Telegraph Department. Females botween the ages of 16 and 25 years are eligiblo as cadettes in the nonclerical division, and women up to 40 years may be appointed if they have previously served a continuous period qf two years. Not more than one daughter in a family is to be eligible for appointment as a. telephone exchange cadet to. Married are not eligible, and females must resign when they marry. Friday, November 29th, is fixed as the, date for payment of the land tax. The appointment is gazetted of Mr, Andrew McKenzie, as inspector of machinery and surveyor of ships. Proposals of candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize of 1908 must reach the Nobel committee of the Norwegian Parliament by February Ist.
