TRAGEDY AT CHRISTCHURCH.
FORMER LUNATIC MURDERS HIS WIFE. AND THEN, ATTEMPTS SUICIDE.

CHRISTCHURCH, NoV. 13. Some time ago. a man named Hans Wilson attempted to murder’ ibis wife, and was sent to the lunatic asylum. iHe was released- recently, and was believed to have fully recovered his reason. He was " prohibited from obtaining drink, and was apparently behaving, well. This -morning, however, he fired three shots at his wife, all taking effect, and the woman is dead. He shut himself nn in a room and fired twice at liia own breast. Ho was removed to the- hospital, hut hopes of his recovery are slight. Wilson is aged 50. and has five children. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov: 13.
An inquest was opened to-night concerning tho death of Mrs. Wilson, who was shot by her husband this morning. Medical evidence was given that- the revolver wounds might not have caused death, and the inquest adjourned till to-morrow for a postmortem examination.
