Drunkenness. —Frederick Kempstone was charged with having been drunk in ta, public' placo. Accused, who had been convicted of a similar offenco a few days previously, was again convicted and lined £1 with costs 2s, in default 7 days imprisonmenit. John llyan, on the sanio charge, did not‘appear, and was lined ISs, witli costs of count 2s, in default 48 hours iimiprisonment. Wilful Destruction of Property.— Wan. J.as. Halle was charged with wilfully destroying a. window in tho Hands Office early the previous morning. Sergeant Williams stated that accused had broken the window in order to bo brought l before the Court, .as he was in a. destitute condition .and wanted sholter. Accused was not responsible for his actions and had been before the Court on a previous occasion charged with doing himself bodily harm. The llench after consideration decided that in •the accused’s own interest, it was necessary that he should be put under proper supervision for a period a'nd accordingly sent him to Napier gaol for three months. . Indecency.—George Gibb was charged .with committing a grossly iiidecont act in Peel street on tho 11th inst. Sergeant Williams gave evidence as to tho. nature of the alleged offence, and accused was sentenced to 30 days imprisonment in Gisborne Gaol.
