IMPORTED MINISTERS.
Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 13 There was considerable discussion at the Presbyterian Assembly t-o-dav on a motion by the Rev. James Witerson, of Wellington, “That in future any minister coming from auv of the Home Churches fully accredited a-ml with a special commission, to this Church be received by any Presbytery to whom his credentials -and commission are presented.” The motion met with strong opposition, imported clergymen coming in for ■some candid criticism. The Rev. A. Cameron, of Dunedin, said the work of some of tlie men commissioned by the Church of iSVo.tl.and was not nil to that of the seventh standard. If it was not a matter of health or family consideration good men did not come out from the Home Church. These remarks were resented by clergy from tho old country, who said they came out with the best of motives. Eventually the motion was lost by 20 votes. - -
