When the telegraph office closed at midnight' general debate was proceeding. LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. The Council met at 7.30. Tho Land Laws Amendment 13111 was recommitted for the purpose of making machinery amendments to snh-clauso 9. clause 81. The Bill was read a third time and passed. The Factories Act Amendment Bill and Flour Duty Bill were received from the House anti read a first time. Tho following Bills were .put through their final stages and passed: —Agricultural Laborers Accommodation Bill, Government Advances to Settlers. Bill, Agricultural Implement 'Manufacturers Importation and Sale Bill, Tauniaranm Town Council Election Validation Dill, Town Districts Bill, and Statutes Repeal Bill. The Coal Mines Act Amendment Bill was read a second time. The Attorney-General moved the second .reading of the Sea Fisheries Bill, which was opposed -by Mr. George. The debate was adjourned until to-morrow. Tho Council adjourned at 9.45.
