ENTERTAINMENTS.

“CASTE.” Referring to tlio pcrform'anco of “Caste” by the Napier Dramatic Students (who will produce tlio piece at His Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday next for ono night only) the “H.B. Herald” says:—“The Napier Dramatic Students aimed somewhat high ill putting Robertson's famous play before their must be said, however, that the result justified tlieir decision, for the performance was one of high all-round merit.. The Theatre Royal was crowded, and the audience testified by the if’"-laugh-ter and .applause how much they enjoyed the entertainment provided for them.” One of tlio successes of the production was Mr. A. H. R.enouf’s impersonation of Eceles, of which the “Herald” remarks:—“Old Eccles, tlio drunken, good-for-nothing vagabond, is the best piece of character-drawing. Mr. A. E.-Renouf took the part admirably ; indeed wo have never seen him more successful. His get-up was capital to begin with, and his conceptimiyrof the tipsy, cringing loafer, always talking about tlio rights of tlio working man, but never willing to work while be could beg, borrow, or steal, showed a great deal of conscientious study.” The box plan is now open at Miller’s, and intending patrons should not fail to securo their seats.
