I’ross Association. NAPIER, October 31. The Magistrate save judgment in a case winch aroused considerable local interest, in which Dr. T. Aloorc, a well-known medical man. was charged on the information of Mrs. Rosie 'Warren with assault. Complainant’s evidence was to the effect that when she called at Moore’s to enquire after the latter’s daughter, he roundly abused her as a vile, wicked woman, "threw her across the room, and kicked her.” Defendant denied the charge in toto. lie admitted touching her with his hand, and "she flopped on the floor.” The Magistrate found the charges unproved. lie did not say the complainant swore falsely, but site appeared to be of a strange and emotional temperament, and may have persuaded herself the story was true.
