EXTRAORDINARY HAULS OF WHITE-BAIT.

WiaGIXG-TOX. Oct. 22. Tlio Palmerston correspondent .of the “Post” telegraphs 'that, the whitebait fisheries at Fox'lon are ,now in the height of the season. Last week’s export of the delicacy amounted to 2,100 gallons, valued at £6OO. Sunday’s catch was a thousand gallons. The present is reported to be a phenomenal season for whitebait. The catch goes to Wellington and Palmerston.
