SYDNEY, Oct. 23. After a continuous' sitting lasting over 24 hours Mr.' McGowen’s want of confidence motion was negatived by 52 to 34. The Opposition kept up a steady stonewall throughout last night. To-day the proceedings generally were uninteresting. Prior to disposing of Mr. McGowen’s motion the House negatived an amendment by Mr. O’Sullivan, condemning the Government for not making provision for the relief of settlers in view of the possibility of a prolonged drought.
