Fullers’ Advanced Vaudeville Company was greet oil liy a largo audience last evenijig ai His Majesty s t heatre, and the various turns, most ol wlneli are entirely new to local playgoers, were greatly appreciated, the lady snake-charmer, Cleopatra, in her daring and fascinating perlormanco, in which she allows snakes of all sorts and conditions to encircle themselves round her body and limbs, has the timid ones in the audience holding their breath in tear and trembling. She winds up her interesting act by producing two young crocodiles whose ungainly antics are provocative of much mirth. Victor the Great gave a vcntrilof|uial “turn” with the aid of Iris band of puppets. This act was highly diverting, as the merriment indicated. He also performed sonic clever sleight-of-hand tricks which completely mystified the audience Bonita, the smartest lady rifle and pistol shot seen in the colony, clearly demonstrated her prowess with tlie rifle, by firing from all positions with penal ease. Madame and X rolossor Klaer added not a little to the success of the evening’s entertainment with their wonderfully trained animals, which included several dogs, and monkeys and a cat. Smooilger, a baby clown monkey, was responsible for a'lot of fun. The vocal part ot the performance was taken by the Bertoto sisters, who were vociferously encored in their songs. A number tif interesting moving pictures were shown, including “Aladdin s Gamp, and “The Short-sighted Cyclist. It has been decided, owing to the success which has attended the company’s efforts ill Gisborne, to hold a matinee performance on Saturday afternoon at 2.30 and also to show on Saturday evening.
