MARRIAGES.

BLAIR v. DOUGLAS. At the residence of the bride’s parents on Tuesday afternoon, Aliss Annie Alclbourno Douglas, (third daughter of .Mr. Archibald Douglas, “Spotsbro,” Patutahi, was marriedto Mr. Frederick J. Blair, third son of Mr. Jas. Blair, solicitor, Nelson. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Air. Gardner, of Alatawhero. Aliss Agnes Douglas, sister of the bride, noted as bridesmaid and Air. J. Alorico as best man. After the ceremony a reception was field at tlie residence of tlie bride’s parents, where tlie numerous presents from all over the district were admired by l large gathering of guests. Tlie happy couple left yesterday mor png for Auckland where the honeymoon is to be spent, proceeding afterwards to their home in the Opotiki district, where Air. Blair has a I arm.

CRAIG—CARBINE,

A quiet wedding was solemnised yesterday afternoon when Air. AI. AV. Craig, of tho firm of Aliller and Craig, was married to Aliss Adelaide Carbine, fourth daughter of Air Thomas Carbine, of Surrey Hills, Sydney. The Rev. C. Griffin performed the ceremony, which took place at the residence of Air. Jame 3 Craig, Te Hapara. Miss N. Smith acted as bridesmaid and Air George Aliller as best man, Use bride being given away by Air. H. Aliller. The reception was held at Air James Craig’s residence; a number of "nests attending.

BARTON—NOLAN

A wedding of much social interest took place yesterday afternoon at Holy Trinity Church, when -Ur. Richard Barton, son of Airs. Omerod, Patutahi, Gisborne, was married to Aliss Alary Nolan, eldest •daughter of Mr. and Airs. J. AV. Nolan, also of this town. The bride, who was given away by lier father, was richly attired in ivory satin, with full-trained skirt, the kimono bodice being beautifully trimmed with silk lace, and an underbodice of chiffon and sil'k lace, and embroidered tulle. She wore a beautiful veil, and carried a lovely, bouquet of maiden hair, lillies of the valley, and heath. The three bridesmaids were Aliss E. Nolan, Aliss Symc (Auckland), and Aliss H. Nolan, who wore beautiful frocks of pale heliotrope ninon de soie over glace slips; the skirts were full and gathered, and finished with a band of heliotrope glace round the hem, and daintily trimmed with heliotrope trellissed ribbon and chiffon embroidery. Tho bodices were made kimono fashion, and had dainty lace yokes and sleeves of cream lace, finished with ribbon and embroidery.- The hats of soft cream crinoline straw, trimmed with maiden hair, tulle, and delicatelyshaded roses completed a charming toilette. Canon Gould, of Auckland, grandfather of the bride, and the Rev. L. Dawson Thomas performed the ceremony. The church was profusely decorated and made a striking picture. The service was fully choral, tho choir rendering a hymn and tho wedding psalm. Air. P. Sherratt was best man, .and’Messrs AV. and G. Nolan groomsmen. Airs J. "YV. Nolan wore a handsome dress of grey floral chiffon .taffetas, trimmed with trellissed black velvet ribbon and floral ribbon, the vest and sleeves of bodice being white chiffon ■ and lace embroidered in pale blue and pink French knots, black crinoline straw bat, with French rosebuds and tulle. The bride’s travelling dress was a pretty cream cloth with silk braid, kimono bodice with lace sleeves and yoke, cream straw fiat with tulle and soft pink roses and touches of dark green velvet. After the ceremony, a reception was held at- “Otipi,” tlie residence of Air and Airs. Nolan. As the wedding party left the church Air. E. N. Sidebottom played the “AA r edding Atarch.” Air. and Airs. Barton left by the boat last night on a visit tn tlie South Island.
