I Alleged Carnal Knowledge.—David I Davis Trow, alias Dick Harrison, was charged with carnally knowing a I girl under 16 years of ago, at Napier. Sergeant Williams, who conducted tho prosecution, asked that tho caso bo romanded to Napier till tho 11th ' inst., his request being granted. Broach of Probation Liconso.— David Davis Trow was further charged with failing to comply with the terms of his probation license. This j caso was also adjourned to Napier till tho 11th inst.

Ho asked that a reI hearing bo granted and the ' caso I heard beforo Mr. W. A. Barton, S.M., lon Monday next. Then Bench declared that they were not only willing, but pleased to grant a re-hearing of I tho caso, and hoped that Mr. Baird, I who was well-known and woll-res- I pected settler, would bo able to I provo his innocence beyond doubt. I Tho caso frill be heard before Mr. W. A. Barton, S.M. on Monday next. I Alleged Lunacy.—Oliver Taylor was.l charged with being a lunatic not un- I der proper caro and control. Drs. I Scott and Morrison certified that I the accused was not in a fit state I to bo at largo, and tho Bench com- I mitted him to the Auckland Mental I Hospital.
