RECOMMENDATIONS BY FIRE BOARD MEMBERS.

WELLINGTON, Oct, 8. A eonferenco of delegates from the various Fire Boards met hero to-day to consider the Fire Brigades Amendment Bill. The principal recommendations of the conference, which will be embodied in a lotter'to tlie At-torney-General, aro that there should bo larger contributions by tlie Government, and that general amendments should bo made regarding the position of Fire Boards. In regard to tho property 7, land, buildings, and plant belonging to tho several local bodies, tlio ponfcrence, whoso proceedings \vero conducted in camera, waited upon the Statutes Revision Comnjiftpo.. and submitted its .views regarding the measure.
