(Received Oct. 8, 1.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Oct. 7. Colonel Stanley, Australian representative of the firm of Armstrong, Whitworth and Co., has selected a site, subject to the approval of the company, at Altona Bay, where they propose to establish shipbuilding works. He states that the company is desirous of becoming pioneers in the industry in Australia, and intend to send out a staff of superintendents and expert workmen, who will train operatives here.

Colonel Stanley interviewed the Federal Minister for Defence on the question of building torpedoers and destroyers for the Commonwealth.
