Mr. J. Doyle, of the Union S.S. Co.’s local staff, returns to Gisborne to-morrow. Air. C. Jarvis, who has been relieving him temporarily, is a passenger for Auckland this morning. Captain Alartin lias accepted the position of master of the HxahorAlnster’s launch. As the vessel lins. not .vet come to hand, Captain Alartin leaves to-morrow on a brief business trip to Auckland. Brigadier Alhistoii, Alajor iDuttun, arid Staff-Captain Ward, the visiting officers of the Salvation Army, leave for the South to-morrow by tho Molar a.
A Press Association telegram from Wellington states that Mr. Ben Tillett. arrived in Wellington last night, and was met by the leaders of the Socialist party and Trades Unions, including the Hon J. Paul. M.L.C. Air Tillett goes south in about a week. Yesterday afternoon, at the residence of the bride’s mother, Kaiti, tb marraige of Miss Theresa Elizabeth Lynch to Francis von Lnbbe was solemnised. The bride, who wore a charming costume of grey voile trimmod with brocaded silk and a picture hat with ostrich feathers, was given away by Mr. T Spiers. Mr. T. Johnston" acted as' best man, and Miss Tin a Coleman as bridesmaid. The
Rev. Father Lane was the officiating clergyman. After the ceremony, the large number of friends who had congregated, were entertained at the wedding breakfast. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a. diamond and ruby ring, and to tlie bridesmaid a gold brooch. The happy couple were the recipients of a number of useful and costly presents.
