GERMAN MERCHANTS UNEASY

Great uneasiness exists among German commercial men owing to a fear that preference will enable English merchants to undersell German exjiorters, while disadvantageous to the German home trade by placing a duty on materials imported into Australia. The Frankfurter Zeitung declares that Germans expect the Government to protest by all means against the proposal to grant preference in favor of British productions.
