'•When there is a sediment like brick-dust in the urine it is a certain indication 'that the kidneys are not doing their work properly, and immediate steps should be taken to restore their healthy action. If this precaution is neglected, particles w gradually become larger, and the miserable suffering caused by Gravel or Stone mil mU Stones are usually formed in the kidneys, and descend thence into the bladder. They are composed of uric acid, or of oxalate of lime ; solid matter which saould be held in solution in the fluids of the body, and be passed off in a dissolved condition in the urine. Uric acid stone is by far the commonest kind. . . When a Btone is formed in a kidney great pain in the loins is felt, and this becomes ■'Jaeonising when the stone leaves the kidney and passes through one of the narrow i channels leading to the bladder. The pain then experienced is known as Kidney Colic. It ceases when the stone reaches the bladder. ‘Once in the biadder, the stone may be passed off with the urine, or it may remain »nd become larger by the accumulation of deposits. Sometimes a stone will form in the bladder by the simple gathering together of particles of gravel. Persons of all ages may suffer from stone or gravel. Even little childrcn.are not ■\§hen a stone formed in the kidneys is too large to pas 3 through the passage leading into the bladder, the passage becomes closed, dropsy sets in, and the patient Bay die in a few hours. ~ When stones remain long In the bladder they glow to a great size, sometimes as pj large as an orange, and they frequently have to be cut out. . ~ e? The following symptoms indicate stone or gravel in the kidneys or bladdert • Painful itching sensation ; swelling of the seat of pain; cramps m the legs and,,, sorotum; bearing down sensation in rectal region; escape of water, involuntarily, in V drops; great agony succeeding successful urination, paroxysms of pain from kidneys to bladder—" kidney colie ” ; pain and difficulty in urinating, with sudden stoppages, p Treatment. —Tho only rational method of treatment for this disease is toy eerreet tho action of the kidneys, thereby removing the cause. In a healthy condition ’ of the kidneys and urinary system the water holds the solids in solution hn.it it escapes bom tho body. In disease the solids arc deposited in the kidneys and fciaddw. restores to the kidneys their natural action, relieves cengestion, heals the wounded and bleeding mucous membranes of the urinary system, dissolves the stones already formed, and prevents further formation. Warner’s Safe Cure is the only remedy in the world which has this power, and if the case is amenable to any medicinal form ot treatment, it will ultimately effect a cure. BLADDER DISEASE. Inflammation or Catarrh of the Bladder (Cystitis) is usually due to lon g retention of arine: the effect of irritating drugs; stricture; enlargement of the prostate gland; Irritation caused by stone or gravel, or by the careless use of a catheter ; exposure to sold; decomposition of urine caused by its retention, etc. There are two forms of this complaint—Acute and Chronic the latter being aseuliar to elderly people. It is commoner in winter than in summer ; in cold than in warm climates ; in males than in females. It is always dependent upon some abstraction to the flow of urine, or upon a diseased condition of the urinary organs The Bladder not being entirely emptied, the water retained decomposes. . The kidneys are generally seriously involved in the mischiof, the catarrh being Usually a secondary symptom of disease of the kidneys, and unless these are restored fc> their natural condition a cure cannot be effected. , Warner’s Safe Cure correots the unnatural condition of the kidneys, prevents the formation of pus and mucus by healing the inflamed membranes, and causes the water to become normal. , , _ @ • A treatise containing many letters from people who have been cured ot atone, Gravel, and Bladder Disease will be sent post free by H.
