COST OF WORKING INCREASING. PROTEST AGAINST FEMALE LABOR. United Press Association—Copyright (Received Sept. 20, 8.45 p.m.) PRETORIA, Sept. 20. Though the native labor on the Rand is satisfactorily increasing, tlio cost of mining is increasing. A numbor of Chinese offered the managers £BOOO if allowed to stay. The International Congress of Miners at Salzburg urge the State acquisition of mines and the prohibition of female labor in mines, which is steadily increasing.
