They advocate cowshed competitions, and appeal to Legislatures to co-operate with the object of the Congress. OTTAWA, Sept. 18. The Trades and Labor Congress at Winnipeg demand an Anglo-Japanese treaty permitting Japanese to enter the Dominion. (Strong feeling was expressed in favor of excluding all re desirable immigrants. LONDON, Sept. 18. The Albert Medal, Second Class, was conferred on Frank Hughes for saving life in a Hooded mine at Bonnievale, AVestern Australia, in March.
