Tho Government is trying tho annual charter of the Standard Oil Company, New Jersey, which holds 9990 out of 10.000 outstanding shares. The Standard Oil Company, ludiania, was recently fined 29,000,000 dollars, and yesterday before the Federal Court, New York, the assistant comptroller stated that the Standard Oil Company’s New Jersey gross assets had increased from 26,791,000 dollars in 1899 to 371,664.000 dollars in 1906. ’During the same period the total profits aggregated 490,360,000 dollars, paying 308,359,000 dollars in dividends.
