The Borough Council to-night rescinded the resolution passed at last meeting deciding that all the staff connected with the. departments of the Town Clerk and the Borough Engineer receive three months’ notice terminating their engagement with the Council. Instead it was resolved after a lengthy discussion to give the Town Clerk 12 months’ leave of absence and the. Engineer 6 months' leave of absence, both on full pay, the other officers to remain in the employ of the Council.
