FALSE ALARM OF PLAGUE.

Press Association. TIMARU, Sept. 17. Dr. Finch, Distrtct Health Officer for Canterbury, was summoned from Christchurch yesterday in connection with the condition of a youth whose ailment presented symptoms that gave rise to suspicions of plague. Today, fortunately, the symptoms had so far changed as to remove the fear that had been aroused.
