A general meeting of tlia YY nnderers’ Cricket Club is to be held in tlio British Empire Hotel at 7.30 o clock this evening.

p.B. CRICKET ASSOCIATION. J A meeting of tho Poverty Bay Cricket Association was bold last evening in tho Uritisli Empiro Hotel, there boiug iiresent Messrs H. E. Maude (chairman), YV. A. Gibson, It. YV. Cary. D. Barry, and H. E. Hill. In reply to a lotter sent by the Association to Mr. Fenton, caretaker of tho Hawke’s Bay Cricket Association’s grounds, a lotter was received from him stating that he would arrive at Gisborne to comploto tho work of laying down a pitch on Victoria Domain, which ho had started last sea-, son. Tho wicket only - required topdressing, and Mr. Fenton asked that tho necessary material bo in readiness, ns ho could only stay one day in Gisborne. The meeting resolved to have a man to assist Mr. Fenton, and also to have the material lie requirod on the ground. Messrs YY T . A. Gibson and R. YY 7 . Cary were appointed n Bub-committee to meet Mr Fenton on ■his arrival and to escort him to the ground. It was decided that a rocommendntion'bo made to the incoming management committee to tako steps to affiliate with the New Zealand Cricket Council. On the motion of the Chairman, seconded by Mr. Cary, it was decided that the annual general meeting be held on Friday, the 27th inst. The Secretary was instructed to write to the country clubs asking them to appoint delegates to represent them at the annual meeting. In accordance with notice of motion Mr. Cary moved that all by-laws on the minute books of the Association be rescinded. This was seconded by Mr. YV. Gibson and carried. As there are a lot of important matters to be discussed at tho annual meeting, the Association requests all players, both town and country, to attend.
