A CARNEGIE LIBRARY.

Press Association. NAPIER, September 16. A new public library at Hastings, the gift of Mr. Andrew Carnegie, was opened to-day. The cost of tile building was £2518. Mr. Carnegie’s gift being £2500. The land for the site was donated some years ago by a Hastings resident, Mr. James Boyle, now deceased. The building forms a handsome addition to the town’s architecture.
