ENGLISH RAILWAY WORKERS.
A STRIKE POSTPONED. United Press Association—Copyright Received September 16, 10.55 p.m. LONDON, September 16. Mr. Bell, M.P., addressing 2500 railway men at Manchester, said the executive of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants had decided to refer the question of a strike to ballot in October, giving the railway directors a final chance to concede the men’s claims, including the right to appoint representatives to negotiate. The meeting concurred wiith the decision. The railway men at Crewe, Derby, Swindon, Peterborough, Bradford, Cardiff, Southport, and elsewhere resolved to support the executive.
