CADET MATCH. A match between the Napier City cadets and the local cadets was pJayed on Saturday afternoon at the V wtoria Domain, despite the unfavorable state of the weather. During the first spell the Napier boys had slightly tlio best of the play, and from a loose forward rush 5Y uson scored. Poynton failed with tlio kick at goal. In the second spell the local lads proved their superiority., and kept the visitors penned in their own 25 tho imost of the time. Tries were scored hv P. Fromm and Maklish, and C Gordon potted a beautiful goa from the field. Mr. J. Somervell controlled the game m an efficient manner, while Messrs. A\ . Luke and Brown held the line flags. The Napier lads, whojhad rather n rough trip up in the Haupiri, left last evening by the Talune, and judging 'by the state of the elements they would not have a very pleasant trip homo again. At a committee meeting of’ the Auckland Rugby Union last night, Mr. Murray, manager of the touring team, made a verbal report, dealing •with the allegations of rough play of the team in Christchurch and Dunedin.
