VESSELS IN COLLISION.

SCOW SLIGHTLY DAMAGED. Press Association. AUCKLAND, September 3. A collision occurred in the Hauraki Gulf last night between the Northern Company’s steamer Clansman and the scow Herald, resulting in slight damage to tho latter vessel. The Herald returned to Auckland this morning. An examination showed that only the chain plates forward were damaged. After the collision the Clansman returned to the scow, and finding that the damage was small went on her passage north.
