ARRAWATTA-INGEBORG COLLISION.
STEAMER’S SECOND MATE HELD RESPONSIBLE. United Press Association —Copyright Received September 3,11.37 p.m. BRISBANE, September 3. The marine inquiry into the Arra-watta-Ingeborg collision found that the regulation lights were exhibited on tho Ingeborg, and that the collision occurred through a proper lookout not being kept on the Arrawatta, for which the second mate, MacDiiarmid, was found in default. His certificate will he suspended for six months. The Court was also of opinion that the Ingeborg contributed to the collision by failing to take the action prescribed bv the regulations for preventing collisions at sea when a collision seemed inevitable. The Court exonerated tho captain of the Arrawatta of all blame. They considered ho did all possible to save the crew. They also placed on record the heroic conduct of the captain of tho Ingeborg.
