A break in the weather on Saturday enabled the first round of-the championship to be played off, but riot a great many cards wore handed in. Tiio following are the results: P. ICeiha 90, -D. R. Murray 100, E. AVillock 103, H. Bull 104. . Tho committee would again remind members that the services of Hood, the Auckland professional, will be available for coaching from September 14th to tho 28th, and they won d very much like to see members ireely take advantage of .this opportunity. Although late in the season a lesson or two at this time will enable players to make a very good beginning next season. The treasurer ot Hie club, Mr. Adair, will be pleased to give any information regarding fees, and ivili also take the names of those wishing tuition and arrange suitable B *addition to the championship round the final of the A Tournament was played for, Air. S. AVillock beating Mr. D. R. Murray bv the substantial margin of 4 up and. 2. Air. AVillock is only a player of two or three seasons’ standing, but has made rapid strides, and should prove an acquisition to Poverty Bay go]f. So far the only Poverty Bay phn er who has entered for the New /('aland championships, to be decided m Napier next week, is Air. D. R- Murray. Some difficulty is being experienced in getting a team together, but the committee hope to be able to arrange for one.
