Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, August 31. ‘ An inquest was held to-day on the •#7 body of William Henry Thorne, which had been found in the Heath- - cote River .yesterday. Ail open ver- r diet of “found drowned” was returned. Deceased was a married jman with five children, and was 62 years of age.
ELTHAM, August 31'. An inquest into the death of a child named Martin, 2j years old,' .; if which died after eating some German sausage, was resumed to-day. The r report from the Government Analyst „ * stated that he found no trace *"rifi. ptomaine or irritant poisons in the --» stomach vomit or in the sausage, and a guinea-pig made to eat tlie sausage showed no ill-effects. The inflammation in the stomach might be - line to seasoning from the sausage. He thought death might he duo to acute indigestion. Medical evidence' "'-, bore this out, and a verdict was returned accordingly. j.
